THE ANET A8 NIGHTMARE – YouTube
The Daily Shed #464 – The last two days, I’ve been struggling with getting an Anet A8 3d printer up and running. A friend bought the kit, with the Anet Auto Level and it was a NIGHTMARE to get working. When the printer would home itself, because the Y axist stop is so far off the bed, the sensor couldn’t see the bed, so the printhead would lower itself well past the bed then try to move the Y and X axis to center.
After two days of frustration, trying to write Gcode to fix it, I settled on making a bracket for the printhead that hits the Y axis sensor while the head is still over the bed. Then, a little tweaking with the gCode and it’s up and running!
All in all, it was frustrating, but I learned a lot. I like learning.
Let’s discuss in the comments!

Hello friends! Welcome to my shed. The Daily Shed is a daily (Mon-Fri) talk show and vlog that I produce in my shed. Each day, I pick a topic to discuss, and spend about 10 minutes on the subject. Then we talk about it in the comments! Thanks for checking out the show! – Chevee
