PUTTING AN M50 WHEEL ON MY VL800

PUTTING AN M50 WHEEL ON MY VL800 – YouTube
The Daily Shed #788 – On a recent ride, I heard a noise coming from the rear of the bike, and it was acting a little odd. After a brief inspection, I found a few broken spokes and the rest were loose. I did some research online and found this was a common problem on this bike. A new set of spokes was going to cost me around $100 with $200 for re-lacing the wheel. Instead, I found that the Suzuki Maurader M50 rear wheel was the exact same size as my Volusia VL800. So, I found one on eBay for $130 and decided to give it a shot.

It works great!

My bike is a 2003 VL800. This wheel came off of a 2005 M50 and it was a direct swap with no modification necessary. I’ll never have to worry about loose spokes again!

Let’s discuss in the comments!
