The Daily Shed #1162 – After reading The Poppy War and starting Sword of Kaigen, I’ve learned that part of the reason these two books seem so odd to me is that they don’t follow a traditional 3 act structure. Instead, they are written in Kishōtenketsu… which is a four act, no-conflict plot structure based on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean tradition.
