The Daily Shed #506 – It’s somewhat strange that in a heavily forested state, I have to go out of my way to find quality hardwood for making furniture. There are no stores I can walk into to buy anything other than the standard poplar and oak that Lowes and Home Depot sell. Why is that? Well at one point, West Virginia was RAVAGED by the logging industry and we have never really recovered.
This weekend, however, I walked into a little slice of woodworker heaven. I found a local hardwood dealer that sells out of a barn on his farm and it was amazing.
